Ehae, I felt this so much! First of all you’re a rock star for carving out the space of time to write. I too aim to write every morning, and while I do manage to journal upon rising most days, I struggle with the discipline required to do much more - more sleep almost always wins! As for the space between your writer self and your other selves, I too have struggled with this. But I’ve recently decided that I’m just going to aim to be my whole self as much as I can in all the spaces. It’s not always evident or easy but I’m excited and happy about this plot twist. Your piece made me think about all of this more - thank you!

Hi Ramya! Thank you so much for reading and I'm glad it resonates! Its so good that you're able to journal - that's definitely the part I'm struggling with now! I was doing it religiously after reading "The artist's way" but I need to make space for it again. And on your second point, I remember being impressed when I saw you share your piece about Treasure Beach more widely! Yes, certainly not easy but hopefully worth it for us both!

I loved this so much because I also looking for balance between my day job and writing. Writing is my ultimate passion, but most times I don’t act like it, perhaps out of trying to remain humble, but I know it’s mostly out of fear. Thank you for your transparent reflections!

As someone who struggles to create space for my writing, this piece resonated strongly with me.

Being a writer is such a muted part of who I am. And my work life, with its crazy demands, has encroached on other areas of my life. I feel like I'm losing the fight.

I enjoyed reading this.

Thanks so much Augustine! Yes I totally understand and can relate. Writing really requires our own affirmation of its place in our lives. I hope you win the fight!
